We are looking for 4 Remote Pilots with experience planning and conducting either manned or unmanned aircraft operations. A professional approach to flight discipline and sound judgment is a must. This is an opportunity for the right people to be part of expanding our operations with new partners and furthering the development of new exploration programs and capabilities
What you will do:
This position will be integral to developing Scout Aerial Africa’s operational capability. Flight operations will be conducted utilizing a number of platforms, autopilots, and sensors. The ideal candidate will be a proven leader with experience operating unmanned aircraft with small deployed teams and no direct supervision. This position will be based in Harare with the potential to work remotely. Expect an estimated company travel requirement of up to 75%. The UAV Flight Operator will perform preflight, flight and post-flight duties on company-owned aircraft. The Operator shall be cross-trained on multiple positions and platforms to allow for minimal crewing for flight locations, as well as flexibility across customer bases.
The candidate can expect to fly UAVs for commercial customers and perform tasks such as:
Flight Planning and management
Maintenance and operation of a fleet of unmanned aircraft
Project management
Creation of Mission Plans and estimates
Travel throughout Africa and at times Australia and Asia Pacific
Required:
Zimbabwean/South African-issued RPL (Minimum requirement)
Experience and interest in operating unmanned systems
Knowledge & experience with General Aviation Rules
Desired:
Experience with multiple autopilots (Piccolo, Pixhawk, DJI, etc)
Experience with Project Management Principles
Ability to communicate clearly even under high-pressure situations
Ability to travel and be deployed on projects internationally
Survey or GIS qualifications.
