AfricaGIS 2021 Conference

The AfricaGIS Conference and Exhibition series have become a flagship Geospatial information marketplace in Africa. For the past 20 years, the series have contributed immensely to the development of skills and institutional capacity in geo-information across the continent.

These forums have served as platforms for bringing together hundreds of key stakeholders including professionals, government officials, development agencies, policy and decision makers to deliberate on innovations in the field of geospatial information technology and its potential contribution to development.

This year’s event has come close and is ready to roll. See details below:

Event Details

Dates: 22 – 26 November, 2021

Location: Ivoire Club, Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire

Theme: Geospatial Innovation & Science for Africa’s growth & sustainable development

The event is also running through under some sub-themes which will make the conference more beneficial and worthwhile. These sub-themes are;

Kumbirai is a GIS & MEAL specialist using geospatial analytics to advance global health and social impact. A certified Data Protection Officer (DPO), an open-data advocate and self-taught software developer, he builds web GIS tools that turn field data into decisions. He lectures in GIS/Remote Sensing and mentors emerging practitioners. Founder of a geospatial startup and nonprofit, he believes, “Real geospatial innovation happens when we empower communities with the right tools and knowledge.” Open to consulting and collaborations.
