Webinar: Location Intelligence to Address Racial Injustice on Health Equity

Posted on January 13, 2021 by KUMBIRAI MATINGO

In their recent Newsletter, the Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI) will be conducting a webinar titled: Using Location Intelligence to Address the Impact of Racial Injustice on Health Equity

Racial inequities have been acknowledged as a barrier to improved health outcomes. Bringing together different perspectives on the topic of improving health equity in our communities leads to a holistic approach.

Join them for a conversation with subject matter experts in the areas of racial justice, health, and location technology to discuss how you and your organization can work together to develop winning strategies.

As mentioned within the newsletter, experts will be sharing the latest thinking on addressing racial inequalities in health to make a real difference in communities. At the center of the conversation, Esri will share a data-driven approach to better understand vital issues from the context of people and neighborhoods. We will also demonstrate how GIS can help you go beyond just identifying the problems to working to reverse the negative impacts.

The webinar will include the following:

  • A candid discussion of the intersection between racial injustice and health inequity and how GIS can help
  • Examples of how organizations are using GIS to address issues surrounding racial injustice and health inequity
  • A racial equity workflow to apply a location-centric lens to your work
  • Demonstrations of Esri’s racial equity and health equity solutions
