The Nigerian Energy Support Programme (NESP), co-funded by the European Union and the German Government and implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Power, is organising a remote Map Marathon series – Mapathon to generate new on- & off-grid map data to support electrification planning.
What you need: an Internet connection, laptop & mouse!

All resources, participation, and registration are FREE. Every student participant will be provided with at least a 5GB data bundle on their phone to ensure a stable internet connection. Registration will provide communications about studentship verification and additional virtual participation details. There is no physical ticket for online participation and only 25 spaces for registered female students in Nigerian universities are available. This time, 35 additional spaces without free data bundle are available for non-student female professionals who are interested to join, and also female students who didn’t get the data ticket but still want to attend.
